  • Q. Is there someone I can turn to for academic support?
    • A. UConn offers extensive academic support options through several campus programs. UConn Connects provides one-on-one support to students to get them on the right track to success in school and in life.

  • Q. I have an emergency.
    • A. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency situation

  • Q. What campus buildings are accessible?

    • A. The Center for Students with Disabilities keeps current information on accessible listed here.

  • Q. What are the parking policies for students with special permits?
    • A. Students with handicapped placards or plates issued by a state department of motor vehicles should register for a parking permit with Parking Services. They will receive a medical decal at a cost of $74 per year. Students should bring a copy of their handicapped placard to Parking Services. Students with medical decals may park in any University space with the exception of reserved spaces, fire lanes, load zones, sidewalks, or on the grass. Your handicapped placard should be displayed at all times.

  • Q. I need help with writing or math, who can I turn to?
    • A. The Writing Center offers support to students who need help with writing. The Center will work with writers at every point in the writing process. If you need help writing and revising essays, generating or organizing your ideas, or understanding the readings required for your writing assignments, Writing Center tutors are available to assist you. Also, the Math Center offers support to any UConn student who needs help in freshman or sophomore level mathematics.

  • Q. Where can I get University health insurance?
    • A. If you are a full-time student, you will automatically be enrolled in the university-sponsored health insurance plan unless you completed the on-line waiver. Go to http://www.shs.uconn.edu/insurance.html for more information. Part-time students who wish to enroll in the student health insurance plan should contact the Bailey Agency directly at 1-800-321-4449. Students may also enroll a spouse or dependents by contacting the Bailey Agency. If you are a GA or TA, you should contact Human Resources for health insurance benefits associated with your position.
